Answering another question gave me the thought to ask this question. What would you say are the 10 most powerful countries, in order influentially, or overall. By that I mean a combination of their diplomatic status, their wealth, their military force, their trade relations, their production, their influence over other countries, their resources, all of those things and anything else you can think of.
Thinking about it, I've come up with a list of countries which would be logical without any order. Just some of the world's more powerful countries in my opinion.
USA
Russia
China
India
Iran
Saudi Arabia
Israel
Britain
France
Germany
North Korea (who supposedly have the 5th largest military on Earth)
Japan
Pakistan (Nuclear Capabilities)
Canada (Oil reserves)
Nigeria (probably the most powerful country in Africa)
This is just speculation on my part though, I don't have any facts supporting it. I just want to see what you guys think.

I would have put South Korea and Egypt on there, but they are powerful for the same reasons as Japan and Iran respectively, but to a lesser extent.

I'm not talking historically (though thinking about that you could possibly argue Vatacian City), I mean today, who are the most powerful.

To be on my list, first a country had to have either economic or diplomatic influence.
Military power was what I used to separate those with about the same amount of diplomatic or economic influence.
People tend to forget Germany as an economic power. But that is mainly due to Germany footing the bill for the clean up and rebuilding of the former East Germany, by itself. So most of its economic resources are being used to bring the new half the country up to par with the older parts.

1.U.S.A 2.China 3.Russia 4.France 5.Germany 6.U.K. 7.Japan 8.India 9.Brazil 10.Pakistan it would take too long to explain all of them lol. and the guy who said Afghanistan is the most powerful is dumb they have an extremely weak national army and do not have many powerful weapons you would be suprised of the strength of the United States Air Force and Navy which Afghanistan cannot match

Historically speaking, I would have to add Greece and Italy (fka Roman Empire) to that list. Philosophy, law and medicine come from there and those things are still important today.
