One is rarely impressed by a new acquaintance's negative side. The real question is how much I would be bothered by it. Would it be something I could ignore, or attribute to nervousness or something similar, or would it be too much for me to wish further contact.

It tends to be depending on my mood. If I am kind of in a bad mood, I wouldn't be too thrilled to see some random person's negative side. If I was in a better mood, I would ignore the negative side and try to maintain a positive attitude.

It depends on what you define as negative. If it is honest negativity regarding a specific topic, I would have to say it would impress me because at least I know this new person I met felt bold enough and comfortable enough with his/herself to be brutally honest and without airs.

notation: Many people, including my own mother, often remark about how I do not think before speaking and at times, my tone comes off as cold, brutal honesty; however, as a person like I am, I have to admire brutal honesty in others.

a negative side to me can be a positive side to someone else. but if youre asking me if id be turned off if a see a side that's negative to me, then that would be pretty definite.

obviously I have everything a little backwards, I met my husband when he was two weeks out of prison, drunk, without a home or job or prospect of one and I would say that was mainly negative sides to him, I married him 14 hours after we met so apparently I would be impressed by the negative side.

I don't think that we are split into sides -- a good one and a bad one. We are a conglomeration of many traits.

If you're rude, for example, oh well. If it persists over time then that is another matter. If you're mean, as another example, oh well. If it persists over time then that is another matter.

Some judge by the cover of the book, I judge by the development of the chapters.
