I'm not a lesbian but I'm worried that my characteristics let people stereotype me as one but I'm no butch or tomboy.

- In my entire 22 years, I've only had ONE boyfriend.
- I get kind of awkward-ish when I'm around guys (long story)
- I'm really shy
- Depressed
- Avoid social situations
- Withdrawn

Um, I have heard that some girls who hasn't "come out" are depressed, withdrawn and what not so... what do you think?

Will people think I'm a lez? I don't want people to get the wrong idea. :( Because people keep asking why a girl like me doesn't have a boyfriend, like they ant to hear me to come out and say that "I'm a lesbian"!!!

I don't know, just what I think. I just have a feeling that they have this kind of thinking about me, I don't know and it's making me queasy to my stomach. >_<

I suppose someone who doesn't know me could make that same assumption, but they couldn't be more wrong. I'm old enough to be your mother, and have been divorced for years. The truth is, I haven't met any (straight) men WORTH having a relationship with! And considering how they are all SO encouraged to "come out" these days, and be their "real" selves, it just may be a long LONG wait for YOU to find one who is even remotely suitable, yourself! I don't know how dim the prospects are where you live, but in the GayTown I'm in, the odds are enough to depress ANY straight gal!

Hang in there, sweetie, and let it be known to all who seem interested that you are definitely on the lookout for a potential MR. Right, but they're getting scarcer all the time!!!

Sounds to me as if you need some counseling. You are obviously unhappy about your life. I have no idea if it has anything to do with your sexuality or not. I doubt very much people are thinking you are gay- this is not the first thing that comes to mind when someone is JUST 22 and hasn't had a boyfriend yet.

If you are in college - go to the college life office and get some counseling. If you are out of school - take an adult education class designed to help you meet people and socialize.

Aww.. Perhaps they will. But, the real issue at hand would be finding a counselor or someone to work out those problems with. Having suffered from depression for 10 years, I couldn't say and louder or harder "PLEASE GET HELP". Good luck~

if you're not gay... then why would you be worrying about it? Let people think that you are gay if they want... if they ask just tell them straight up that you are straight, just not into the whole boyfriend thing right now. Tell them what you are and don't let this bother you... you'll be happier

hope this helps ;-)

If you had Sexual Relations with another Woman I say Yes, If you didn't you're Probably A-Sexual.

if they do, that is just stupid! just because you're 22, that doesnt mean you have to be like, engaged or something... that is just wrong!!

i really hope they dont, because otherwise, you will have to stand up for yourself...dont hide, but stand straight up, head up, chin up and be proud of who you are
