Chromosome is a huge coiled structure consisting of DNA. An organism's genome or entire DNA sequence is separated into several chromosomes, for example 23 homologous pairs in humans and only 4 in fruit flies.

A gene is the sequence of nucleotide bases which code for a specific protein product.

If a genome is the world, chromosomes would be like continents, and genes would be like cities, and nucleotides would be like individual people.
