Later: Thank you "H_A_V_O_C" > The Orleans is super about honoring special requests. My folks are in their 70's and my Mom does not get around very well, so they always request a room near the elevators. As I told you above the best strip view rooms are 02-44(even) > "the higher room numbers" are near the elevator. If you can get a room such as 1642 - 1740 - 1840 - 1942 those are perfect.

Leave the kids home. Its definitely not a place for them.
If you insist on taking them Flamingo has a great pool. Circus Circus is in the ghetto, it gets pretty scary down there. The Gold Coast is off the strip and I think it has a bowling arcade. Excalibur has a kids areas and might be a bit more child friendly

Ditto on the Orleans with the bowling alley and movie theater. Also price is VERY reasonable.
Make sure you request a room that requires less walking for grandpa. My step-father-in-law said of his stay at the Venetian that it was too much walking. I've never stayed at the Orleans, so I don't know how much walking there is, but at some of the big strip casinos (Bellago, Venetian, and MGM Grand in particular), sometimes you feel like you are doing nothing but walking.

Red Rock has a gorgeous pool. I think it's more for a family type chill. 2nd will be Mandalay Bay. Beautiful beach with a live concert going on in almost the center pool but this is more for adults. It has real sand but is a smaller Beach/pool compared to Red Rock's.

Circus Circus...It's one of the older Casinos but you'll be able to have fun. The kids could go on the rides and your grand pappy could hang out in the buffet.

Las Vegas is not for children. Who knows what they would see at the pool!

circus circus is nasty, dirty and gross. the orleans is a good one, would rethink taking kids to vegas though. Unless your planning on staying at pool most of time, they will be bored.
