on my first day school i decided i wanted a new look so i got a frohawk like Mr.T(lol) just for fun and a new style to go with it a small t-shirt and pants that fit. When i go to school (it's a predominately hispanic and african american neighborhood)
i stuck out like a sore thumb the guys and some girls had the typical gangster look or hip hoppish look. I was in classes with seniors and juniors , the teacher gave this senior (******* assholes thinks he's hot **** ) a handout for the class when he gave me my sheet he made a joke about my hair and how much a ****** i looked (embarrassing me in front of all the girls in my class) then at lunch almost everyone stared at me and avoided me(i tried just talking to random people but they ended up moving away from me).

-how can i make this change?
-will this change over time?
-why can't people accept my individuality?
-should i just cut my hawk into a ceaser and wear some baggy jeans with a long *** shirt reaching to my kness

If you are choosing a look to be different, you must decide that you are making a long-term commitment not just to style, but also to levels of acceptance as well.
People tend to dress in a certain way in order to be accepted by people in a particular group: Goths hang out with Goth, Punks with Punks, etc. Each group has its own style, etiquette, slang, and rules. By dressing in a particular way, you advertise "I want to be identified as a member of a particular group".
On the other hand, dressing in your own style is a way of expressing your own independence and your own way of being accepted. If you have a core group of friends that will accept you no matter what, then take on the role of the different one.

People have a hard time accepting people who are different, especially in high school where everyone (and I mean everyone) is really, really insecure at one time or another.

It will take time for people to accept you, but they will accept you not for your clothes or hair, but for you.

In twenty years, people may remember you as "the kid with the frohawk", but try to be remembered as "that kid with the frowhawk that everyone liked". Be different, be unique, and be proud of that. Who knows? You might start a trend.

I am a high school teacher, and I once had a student who would come in different costumes. One day she would dress like Sailor Moon, another as a Cowgirl, and another in a formal Chinese dress. She was not one of the most popular students but she didn't care; she just wanted to have fun.

If you showed up in my room with a frohawk, I probably would have complimented you -- those things are really high maintenance, and any kind of commitment of time and effort should be recognized.

Good luck!

God Bless you for being "Different" !! Keep up your own style, please, and don't pay attention to their comments!!
I am thinking about last night--I have to tell you, there were a bunch of gangsta-types at the CA State Fair last night...running to see a fight (which was over soon) but I can't get the vision of them all grabbing their pants (at the crotch, no less) to run !!
Classy. (NOT)
A young man with sense...Proud of you...I think you will do great things some day !

Stay strong man. If the people can't put on a smile and be friendly to you just because of your HAIR, then they really are dickholes and I doubt you'd want to hang around with them anyway. I sure as hell wouldn't.

Congratulations on trying to be yourself not a clone like most kids. I don't know if I would like your look but at least I would know it wasn't a copycat look.
Teens hate individuality so they will resent you not looking like them but you go ahead and be you.
Maybe next year you could try a suit and tie that would frost them.

I admire you for deciding to be different.
That baggy jeans thing is dumb anyway and young girls I know hate the "gangsta" look.
Do what feels good to you, in the end you'll be respected for it.

If you like how you look, just keep on doing it. Eventually people will get used to your look, and not care.

God bless you sweety....you do not have to go so far as to wear a mohawk to prove your point. let other people dress how they want and you dress how you want......you are an individual by birth right....you do not need fashion or a certain hairstyle to prove that.

However, in order to not stand out and cause you the stress.....just take it down a notch and change the hair.....maybe wear something like this:
