Am I a terrible person for being inquisitive and curious about everything?

Especially when a lot of it has NOTHING to do with me? I've been told I'm naturally deep and even if I say on here "Question has nothing to do with me" people say "you sicko, you weirdo, you ask these many questions you belong in the looney bin!"

So is it wrong to be curious and want to find quick info on topics you want to know about?

Is curiosity a mental illness?

No curiosity is not a mental illness.
Curiosity is a personality trait and it is a highly advantageous one. Curiosity helps people stay informed and abreast of the latest issues.
It sounds to me that you're just a naturally inquisitive person so i would make the most of your curiosity and use it to your advantage. Remember, knowledge is power. By keeping informed and wanting to know things, you're helping your cognitive capacities to enhance and develop. Mental acitvity is an important protective factor against cognitive decline and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's.

Curiosity in itself isn't a terrible thing, and doesn't in itself make a person terrible. In Yahoo answers, it's a positive good trait to have, because it gives people an opportunity to provide answers.
Of course anyone asking questions here, particularly thoughtful ones, or questions dealing with sensitive issues, is bound to get a certain number of responses from folks who spend a lot of their time being offended by something or other.
On the other hand, some questions can be offensive, particularly if they show insensitivity to other peoples' beliefs, or ethnic or social groups. It's a good thing to check the Answers Community Guidelines every now and again, if you feel you're receiving more than your share of angry responses.
Remember, even if your question "has nothing to do with" you, you are the person asking the question, and if your question is over the line, you are responsible for its being there.
Just as in life off the 'Net, always a good idea to think before you ask.

There is nothing wrong with being curious, at all. However in society there are unspoken rules of appropriateness. For example, if you are talking to a friend about shoes, don't just suddenly ask them how many times a day they masturbate. You know? Stay within the context of the situation/conversation. And don't ask personal questions (like the example above) to strangers (or anyone) just out of the blue. But if you're talking more like questions on history or whatever, there is nothing wrong with that at all, but if you stand there and ask question after question after question some people would get a bit annoyed. In which case, remember that google is your friend.

Wanting to know is GOOD.
Ignorance and accepting ignorance is BAD
