Maytag. I bought their top of the line washer many years ago and I have had ZERO problems. My aunt, who is 90 is still using her Maytag from the 1970's and has never had to fix it, other that hoses. Top loader, would never buy a front loader, they leak.

whirlpool or ingus. I have owned both, and have had great service-20yrs on the whirlpool, the ingus is still new-it's 10 yrs old. both machines are gentle on the cloths, and really cleans them.
