If the unit is on the roof (as opposed to the attic) then I would assume that it is a package unit rather than a split system. A package unit should not have sweat on it although it should have condensate coming out of it through the condensate drain. If there is sweating on the outside of the cabinet, then there is inadequate, missing or waterlogged insulation on the inside if the panel which is no longer insulating the cold air inside the unit to keep it from the moist air on the outside. One other possibility is that there is an area sweating because the unit is iced up. Icing can occur if the filters are plugged to the point where they cannot breath or something else is impeding airflow across the evaporator coil. Icing will also occur if the system has a low refrigerant charge as a result of a leak. If the water is coming through the roof, you may have a secondary problem with the roof.

is your air handler system in the attic? If so, there is a drip pan underneath it to catch moisture that should be going down a drain. If that drain is clogged the moisture hits the drain pan and is routed through a pipe out of the attic. That could be dripping on your condenser unit outside.

It the same reason that your glass sweats during the summer time. The A/C unit is cooler than the air around it, which takes water out of the air and it ends up on the surface.

When the humidity outside is high, it's normal for the a/c to sweat more.

Drain line is clogged, and the overflow pan drain is as well.

if you AC is on the roof, maybe the drain is plugged. a visual inspection would verify it.
