Ok Tangerine, I dont get why people ask questions then dont have a way to send back. I have never met a child in there life that asks what there name means.. And I would answer, it means that me and Daddy took along time to find your name just like along time to have you. You are and always will be special to us and wanted you to have a special name.. I will also add that when Mommy called your favorite Aunt to tell her that the Doctor said yes, that I spoke with your favorite cousin and she said.. Auntie Heather, Is the new baby going to be a Princess.. Because she has a princess name..

But the name has a meaning look up click on the link, it means the wished for child..

Tangerine, what's wrong with the meaning?

Malaya -

Origin: Sanskrit
Meaning: Sandalwood trees
or
Origin: Indian
Meaning: Hilltown

I like Ravae. I've only heard it one other time - John Walsh's (America's Most Wanted) wife, but she spells it Revé.

I commented on your other question so I will give it a go again :)
As I said before...Malaya is adorable. I usually don't like names that are too unique but, I'm really liking this name.
I love the middle name with it as well.
The only small problem is that I would pronounce it Rah-vay with the way that you have it spelled now.
Why not Malaya Ruvae? Or even Ruevay? Ruevae? Ruhvae? Ruhvay?
I think you need to have the U in there somewhere to pronounce it right.
Good luck!

Malia means "wished for child." Malaya means "free" or "hilltown." I think it is pretty, though.

I'm not so sure about MaLaya Ravae. What about MaLaya Rae?

I don't know. I'm just throwing some ideas out there.

Congratulations on the baby and best wishes!

I like the Ravae. But how about Betelgeuse that means Northern Star

I love the name MaLaya it's got a feminine sound to it...But I myself would use a middle name such as:
Yvonne
Danaye

Hope you find a nice middle name for your little one.

I get that you're being original and creative -- but when she's old enough to ask, "what does my name mean, Mommy" what are you going to answer?
