Or do you think it just wouldn't have happened, since if he was open about it he wouldn't have to troll public bathrooms?

I find the whole thing just very sad.

You and one respondent so far have the truth between you.

1) If he were out, he wouldn't be seeking sex in public bathrooms, he'd go to some nice gay bar somewhere (and have sex in their bathroom), and

2) If he were out, he would never have been elected senator from Idaho, so it wouldn't have made the news (no matter where the bathroom was).

And I'm trying to be funny because you're right, it's sad that he has to go through that, and it's sad that anybody else even has anything to say about it. From what I've observed, the heavy judgement climate around homosexuality is a problem unto itself that just makes other problems worse.

It's more than sad, it's utterly disgusting. Boys frequent bathrooms and I as a mother of a teenager should not have to worry that he is going to be accosted in a public restroom. This is a major problem. Predators lurk in the men's room and it's positively nauseating and it is especially so when the person caught happens to be a US Congressman. Give me a break!
If you are paying attention you will realize this is a very serious problem, especially at places like Airport bathrooms, Barnes&Noble's bathrooms across the country are known as pick up places for homosexuals and people leave their children everyday in that bookstore thinking it is perfectly safe. The same thing with Toy's R Us, Walmart and Target.
No one should have to worry everytime they enter a restroom that they are going to be assaulted by a sexual predator.

He's not sad, he's a pathetic criminal who doesn't deserve our pity. Thank God it was a police officer and not one of our children.

This kind of behavior is abhorent to most homosexuals and they don't engage or behave in this manner.

At almost a similar time it hit the information, Romney distanced himself from the guy who have been his liaison in Congress. The noise approximately resignation is Republican in beginning place, and that they are livid that he seems to be reneging on his resignation. that's information to many that've pronounced all alongside that gay adult males are people comparable to others and should no longer be singled out for particular unfavourable therapy. the form that Sen Craig himself railed against in a teach of what we now understand to be epic self hatred. The Republican occasion had made significant inroad into the very prepared Christian Fundamentalist and Evangelical church. they have finished this by using assuring those contributors that they share those values, those values do no longer incorporate pedophilia, intercourse in the Mens room and being on a DC madams call checklist. they pick him out and the completed component previous history. I even heard postpone say that the Republican occasion eliminates its evils however the Democrats enable them to stay. that is a narrative that has many angles. and admittedly, intercourse is going to sell extra beneficial than a typhoon in crucial usa of america, or a conflict that has so little help that the only component left to do is be sure a thank you to circulate away gracefully.

I think the timing of the incident stinks.

That being said, I don't think he should have resigned from the Senate because of it. We have plenty of other guys in Washington who've done worse and are still there (like the Kennedys).

I do think the gays in the Congress (some one else mentioned Barney Frank) should have made this seeming witch-hunt an issue. Whether Craig is gay or not, this was clearly engineered to embarrass a member of the Senate for potentially being gay. If that's bad, then the openly gay should go first.

Craig should stay in office, and wait for the Democrats to choose sides. Either they believe their liberal talking points, and come out in his favor; or they stay quiet, and all the liberals know that they are just vote-whores.

I think that if Larry Craig were openly gay, there would have been no NEED for a bathroom incident. Yeah, I know, George Michael, yada, yada, yada...but it's usually the closet cases who resort to that sort of pathetic activity.

The problem with Craig, Foley, Newt and the others is that they LIE about being moral, church-going types. They are just as frail as dems. Look at poor Ann the Man Coulter with that big Adam's apple. If she were a dem, she would be accepted as a man that became a woman.

I find the scenario sadder seeing the man was a public official. Should have known better. What is it about gay people and the drive to have spontaneous sex with strangers in public places?

No, honesty is the best way and the truth does set you free, Also Democrat Barney Frank survived a male prostitution scandal along with Gerry stubbs, and the Dems still vote and voted them i so it would be hypocritical for Craig not being accepted for being gay, but the liberal platform is built on hypocrisies

I don't think it's a big deal, regardless.

It's the media and people like you who are making it a big deal by focusing on it.

Seriously, who cares? Leave the poor guy alone.

If he wasn't such a hypocrite he would have been forgiven like Barney Frank was years ago with his brothel scandal.
