no way! if it is okay for her to start it why shouldn't you protect yourself. i am a girl and i do not feel like that being a girl offers some sort of protection if you decide to become physical with someone you should expect the same in return. just being a girl doesn't give you a god given right to hit a guy.

From a legal perspective you are allowed to use a reasonable degree of force to protect yourself- -even from a woman. I would not characterize your actions as retribution for her conduct but more as response to her conduct in order to make her stop. From a chivalry perspective, a man should never hit a women. However, some say that chivalry is dead since the women's movement and their demand to be treated equally. Thus, in you situation, you responded in kind and treated her like an equal. Prescription: quit hanging out with women who have a propensity for hitting you unless it pays off in other ways you have yet to mention.

Defending yourself is perfectly legitimate.
Sounds to me as though you somehow keep yourself in contact with this obviously demented female. Are you a masochist??
If you don't have the brains to walk (NO run) from this female then you deserve what you get..........I would think you'd have seen the warning signals by now.
For God's sake man, what the heck are you doing hanging anywhere near a person like this?.......Slapping her back was absolutely ok.........If it happens again, YOU'RE the idiot!

You should always try to walk away. But if this is an ongoing thing with her, then she has it coming. I don't care what anyone says, no one has the right to put their hands on some one else female or not. And once she hit you, then you had every right to defend your self.
Guys are told over and over not to hit girls, but when that girl wants to step up like that and put her hands on a guy, she deserves what she gets.

If she was assaulting you, you had a right to defend yourself. As long as you didn't put your hands on her first your okay. She clearly did not want to be a lady and you put her in her place (since a lady doesn't do such acts as spitting and beating up on people).
And to greasy midget: if the asker is telling the whole story, then he's not wrong for fighting back someone who beat up on him. Oh, and hitting a girl has no effect on your sexual orientation, both straight and gay guys fight with girls (not that its right but it happens).

I had 2 older brothers and no sisters. I had to be a tomboy to maintain up and not get left at the back of. In different circumstances i think of i could have been extra girly, yet my domicile existence did no longer supply that decision. i became into compelled to placed on skirts in college for all 12 years of yank public training. After that I consistently wore pants/denims. i like them plenty extra beneficial they make me sense safer. donning attire and skirts transforming into up did no longer consistently serve me nicely. hi Rainbow! =)

This is not an equality issue. It is not acceptable for anyone to hit another person. Believe me she looks like an immature idiot for acting like that. You on the other hand, must remember, You will come out looking like the better person by simply avoiding her. Good luck :)

i hope you still have some sense of dignity...if it is happening regularly...it is just that you are being what is a perverted stalker for her...so she gets agitated and irritated...the other thing that you did of slapping back is no...big deal for a guy to do to a girl...all it goes to show is he does not respect women...
and coming to the point that she does it often to you... you need to get your self away from her... atleast for the sake of dignity and atleast for your own good health...physical and mental...if it had happened else where in public u might have a badly bruised ego...
And it is not equal rights!!!

Charlie Brown said "never hit a girl just shove her."
Never hit a woman, step away. Don't go near her don't apologize, unless a judge tells you to, don't defend your actions.
You're probably wrong but assuming you were justified, you are still wrong, stay away from this person,
