No.
As you said...the problem is not the QB. Truthfully,we have no clue if any of them are any good, or the WRs or RBs for that matter.
Even if Quinn was still there, it would be ugly, because all the skill positions are starting from scratch, except basically the TE, Safety and Center (Carlson, Zibikowski and Sullivan).
After the snap, there was more White jerseys in the backfield, than Blue ones. The O-line (which wasn't that great last year) is really in shambles.
Weis is a great offensive thinking coach, but I wonder if like a lot of smart guys, he overlooks the obvious. Cause it should be obvious that even if he had Montana and Bettis, with no line, their sunk.
Maybe Weis should try to find some good scouts to help with the recruiting.
And honestly, I like Sharpely better. But, Clausen is the future (until he has a hissy fit and transfers), so it's class time.
*Bigjohn....are we sure they can beat up Navy? With this offense, I wouldn't hold my breath. Shoot...Quinn was bigger than anyone on their Defense....Clausen? My 17 year old sister could probably kick his butt.

No Jimmy Clausen can't save Notre Dame, not with that offensive line and for sure not with the running backs or that WR's. Everybody on that team is so young, they're need games experience and what a bad year it is to pick up games experience, Notre Dame gonna get beat up and down the field in almost every game they play in this year. This is the worst Notre Dame team i can remembered in the last 15 years. Plus Jimmy Clausen is the most arrogant high school player i have even seen, went he guarantee 4 national titles at his conference called at Notre Dame University. I tell you what Jimmy, your 0-1 in your first year, because your team are horrible this year, so your not gonna win it this year. And as of next year, i don't see your team a BCS title contender either, so will make that 0-2 right of the bat this year. I hope your not the second coming of Ron Pawlus, went Beano Cook guarantee he would win multiple Heisman Trophy.

If Jesus Christ himself came down and Quarterbacked for Notre Dame next Saturday, Penn State would still sack him 5 or 6 times. They're offensive line was the problem, Clausen will help, but without any offensive line it's going to be a rough season.

They lost 33-3 to Georgia Tech. If Clausen is a good quarterback he might make things better for them, but they obviously have more problems than just who is playing Quarterback. And if his offensive line is bad, he won't get much of a chance to help

Sorry, but God can't save Notre Dame this year.
Even He's laying the points and taking Penn State on Saturday.

No he can't.
You say what I have been saying since I've watched them play on Saturday.
Notre Dame will not do much until the offensive line gels.
Plus, the defense let an average Georgia Tech offense run wild on them.

All the king's horses and all the king's men cannot put Humpty Dumpty back together again. It is going to be a long season for the Irish. Should be interesting in a few weeks when N.D. meets the Wolverines.
Oh well, they can beat up on Navy.

no, no one person can fix that team. It is a rebuilding year no matter how much weis wants to deny it. He will be a good QB but we wont find out his capabilities until he has some protection and better weapons. That O-line is soooo dirty. They wont win many games this year.
