I mean he just killed some dogs, that's it. They're just animals and I don't value animals, I value human life. For God's sake, they're treating him worse than a murderer. Just leave the guy alone, he's alright in my book.

I love animals, and I have had animals all my life, but I don't think the Vick story is worth all the worry and hand ringing. Yes it is wrong to fight animals and kill them for a buck saved, however their are many poor uses for an animal.
However, compared to the state of affairs in America, Vick's nasty story is minor.
The United States Government is not working to the benefit of all or even 60 percent of the population. Look around and ask yourself why everything is going to pot? Why do we have the highest murder rate compared to other Western Democracies, and also compared to even some third world countries?
Why do we have failing educational institutions in America? Why can we not convert energy into green energy when other Countries are already doing so? Why is the American public so absorbed by sports, clothing, SUV's and crime stories on TV?
Why do our political parties fighting tooth and nail without resolving the overpopulation of citizens in prison, and why does America need to have one of the highest rates of imprisonment of its citizens in the World? Why do we still have people without health care in the richest Country in the World? Why do we leave ourselves vulnerable to contagious diseases by not having Universal Health Care?
Why are we continuing to allow business to collect retirement from its workers and then not have any money left after the company is sold or the company goes out of business.
Why with all these problems is the Vick Store all that big?

"The greatness of a nation and it's Moral progress can be judged
by the way it's animals are treated."

"To my mind the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human
being. I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled
it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man."
Gandhi

Here's a shoe on the other paw story: How would you like to be one of Vick's pit bulls that just arrived at his kennels, being choke-chained for not attacking a little dog used as training bait (that has his mouth taped shut and is helpless). Then when you finally learn that you will be choked to death if you don't chew the throat out of the little dog -you rip up it's body and EAT it because that's all you get to eat! Then, what is your reward...You have to fight FIERCE "teeth gouging" pit bulls over and over again and even though your face is hanging and half chewed off - you must win or DIE!, because If you lose and don't die, you will have a slow "drowning" death - where you will be weighted down and held under water while the powerful hands of man (whom you trusted) hold your nose and mouth and there is no air and there is no hope and there is no help and your innocent life is slowing fading and your legs are kicking and flailing and your lungs are bursting, all the while to the cheers of the spectators for their entertainment jollies.

That's torture my friend. Psychologists say these people are dangerous to humans as they have been desensitized and have no compassion. Anyone that makes an excuse (NAACP & Vick fans) for inhumane treatment of animals are just as sick, just as sadistic, and just as cruel and just as dangerous!

The way a person treats an animal is the same way he treats people. If someone kills a dog people are afraid he will also kill a person.
