We got a long so well and made plans to see each other again, but after a week, he emailed me this. Did he diss me or was just using an excuse not to see me again? Should I email him back? If so, what?
This is his email.
" Sorry I have not been in touch. It's a very long story but I'm not doing well right now. When things are better I will be in touch."

It doesn't sound like a dis to me. He's probably just having a rough time personally with issues that he's not ready to share with you yet.

Email back and say that you hope things get better soon and that you look forward to hearing from him when he's ready because you enjoy his company. That shows you're still interested and that you're willing to give him his space when he needs it. Then dont' contact him again.

Wow I think I dated that guy too.....I seriously met a guy online and same thing he disappeared for a while then I got the same kind of e-mail. He is obviously not ready for anything so you ought to let it go, don't reply, I don't think he is dissing you but he is not wanting to see you. Move on.

Oh, he's probably married like 80% of the people sneaking around online looking for some kind of one night stand. If you ever talk to him again the long story will be that he's "separated" and his wife hates him. She is mean and never has sex with him and never has understood him. She shops all the time and spends all their money. blah, blah, blah. Don't contact him again.

You should keep in touch.
At least give him the opportunity to explain before drawing conclusions. A whole lot can happen in the span of one week in a person's life.
You have to realize - at least he is letting you know his interest in you by emailing you 'something'.
If he wanted to blow you off, he wouldn't have written.
Just wait till you can talk and hear his side of things.

Seems to me like he's just being honest. If he's a teenie, yeah he might be a jerk. but if he's an adult, well, people in the real world have real problems that are more important than sending emails. Be patient. He'll explain later.

I think you should just take it at face value... My concern is this: aren't you a little over-invested in a relationship in which you have never even met the person? Move on.. it's no big deal either way.

Perhaps he's really depressed over something that happened... if you really like the guy, I send another email saying how sorry you are for his troubles... that you would love to be there for him and listen to his problems if he wishes to share them with you and if not, to look you up when he feels like it.

DOESNT SOUND LIKE HE IS PLOWING YOU OFF AT ALL. SOUNDS LIKE THINGS CAME UP THAT HE HAD TO COME UP WITH. WRITING HIM BACK WITH A MAD LETTER WILL JUST MAKE THINGS WORSE, i THINK YOU SHOULD WRITE HIM THIS.

HI I JUST GOT YOUR LETTER, i AM SO SORRY TO HEAR THINGS HAVENT BEEN GOING WELL BUT I JUST WANTED TO SAY i HAD A GET TIME WITH YOU AND CANT WAIT TO HAINGOUT AGAIN. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH. BUT I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU GOT SOMEONE HERE, IF YOU EVER NEED ANYTHING FEEL FREE TO TALK TO ME. I REALLY HOPE THINGS GET BETTER.

HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON

i don't think it's an excuse. he might just have a lot going on in his life right now. i would email him back and tell him that if he needs anything that you are available.
