Don't blink for a really long time, untill your eyes start watering up, then blink alot and you'll see, tears come up!

think about what triggers you crying. For example: I cry when I get really frustrated with everything in my life and feel like I can't go any further. Or when people die. Anyone. It doesnt matter who. Just the thought of people dying can make me start crying. and just think really hard about that trigger. Let all your thoughts and fears come from it.
Which leads me to another method. Think of the one thing you want more than anything in the world. Your own super objective for your life. Imagine yourself getting it. Basking in all it's glory. Feeling so happy and warm. Then envision it being taken from you. Everything shattering right after you've achieved all you've ever wanted. It's unfair. It's tragic. It means you have to start all over again. Everything you went through was for nothing.
Just remember that with acting it's not acting. it's reacting. So make sure you have a solid reason as to why you're crying and really focus on it. you're not crying because you were told to cry now. You're crying because you lost your family ring your mom gave you on her deathbed and it's all you have to remember your family. You're crying because your big mentor just died. You're crying because you've been trying so hard to reach your goal and realizing that you're farther from your goal then you were when you started.
ALWAYS HAVE A REASON! Pick something in your own life that resembles that scene. Use it as fuel for your emotions. If you are concentrating enough on those thoughts, you won't be able to stop yourself from crying. I know. I've done this many times.
Hope this helps! Break a leg!

You do not have to resort to any of the artifical ways of crying that have been suggested. All you have to do is do what an actor is supposed to do and you will cry if the character you are playing is supposed to cry. The only reason you cannot cry is that you are not being the character and you are thinking about yourself and crying and not thinking about what the character is thinking about. This is the fourth time I have answered this question in this forum. Acting is responding to stimuli in imaginary circcumstances (the play) in a creative and dynamic (energetic) manner that is true to the character and his enviroment (realistic and true) so as to communicate ideas and emotions to the audience (it is somewhat exaggerated). That is what acting is. Now if you are doing that, you are not aware of yourself, or the teacher or the audience. You are aware of the other characters and what they are doing and that makes you respond with your lines and if your character is thus so upset she is crying, you will also cry. Simple and true. What acting today should be.

i would say practice for about a year, because that's how i learned how to cry on cue. but it sounds like you need to learn quick.
you really need to get into the scene. it's hard, i know! you have to feel exactly what your character is going through, and pretend that you are in her situation. do all her physical movements, that helps for some reason. practice all the time when your alone. it helps if you're in front of a mirror.
here's another idea: usually, actors are not supposed to develop a trigger that makes them cry every time, but you might want to. think of the saddest time of your life and relive it.
if all else fails, sniff something you're allergic to or use water. please don't do one of those unless u really have to!!! lol
best of luck!! hope u get the part!

I hit my thumb with a hammer.

Seriously though, Doc is 100% correct. You cry because your character cries. There are no shortcuts.

This is for real if you know what Jesus did on the cross then think about that, and if you don't then let me tell you .He died for our sins where we could have eternal life with God.If this is not enough then read Matt, in the new testament.
When you think about this be series and remember Jesus loves you.
Hope you get the part.
