No. Hard work overlooks one important aspect of being human in the world. Despite our 'independence' we are an intricate part of society. No matter how much one believes they accomplished X on their own, there are always others involved. You cannot be a successful businessman, for example, without a steady stream of staff and customers to help you along the way.
Hard work often alienates others. As others are often affected by personal feelings, the hardest working and most hated will always face more obstacles than others. Working hard does not overcome just obstacles -- from being hired, being promoted, to being helped in general.

No...not everything can be accomplished with hard work at all. I work all day and all night so that I can be a successful teacher...but I still have to deal with complaining parents, bossy administrators, and disrespectful students. I've been giving up my weekends and personal relationships to be a good teacher, and what do I get in return? Nothing but depression! So I say, no...hard work doesn't get you respect, love, or even what you want to accomplish. Sometimes it's just about who you know and the relationship you have with them. Seriously. I was always taught to believe in hard work and have worked my butt off getting straight As, volunteerting, and everything else...and I'm miserable. I could have saved myself the trouble and just enjoyed life more.
I wish I would have chosen a profession that allowed me more time with the ones I love. For now, I'm lonely and frustrated!

Yes, anything can be accomplished with Hard Work.
Very little can be accomplished without Hard Work, but if it can be done, sometimes this is the better way.
Some things require more than just Hard Work, but it is still a necessary ingredient.

No. I worked my *** off all my life. Attacked every obstacle head on. Dumb. My body is a collection of weak links ready to blow, back, knee, kidneys.
Better to go at it with a balanced approach. Work hard but work smart. Work at networking, the right people can help you leapfrog obstacles that would require tons of work to over come. Have short and long term goals and think outside the box.

Only if the right people notice the hard work. Be concious of who and what you are working hard for.

Because it can't; there needs to be wisdom accompanied with hard work. Most poor people work hard; it gains them old age and aches and pains.
