As a proud "liberal" and usual Democratic Party supporter (I consider myself to be an independent liberal- hence my support for Nader in 2000), I am relieved that the Dems have not made Larry Craig's legal troubles an issue. The facts are rather sketchy at best- this police officer says Craig used foot-tapping as a "signal" that he wanted sex (the officer claims it is a "well known" signal). I, myself, am skeptical of this so-called "bust." What if Craig tapped his foot? So? Why the hell is this cop sitting in men's room on tax-payer dollars, trying to catch some dude wanting anonymous sex in a men's restroom? Please, do something CONSTRUCTIVE w/ a police officer's time. Second, I've seen rumors of Craig's supposed homosexual tendancies on the internet. I would not be suprised to find a gay-baiting Republican to be a closet bisexual/homosexual. I would encourage Senator Craig to be forthcoming & completely honest. I find the hypocracy of Congressional Republicans to be nauseating.

It's not so much his gayness but, his inability to tell the truth. I've listened to the police tapes and I'm not at all happy about having him dictate laws to me!
When he called Mr. Clinton a "Naughty boy, Nasty boy, Dirty little boy". I remember turning to my wife and commenting that this guy was a flamin' (censored by Yahoo).
Not only is he gay (which in itself is not my business) but he's a bathroom stall peeper. I do not feel safe sending my son into a men's room only to think that some perverted senator/congressman or other public servant will be peeping at him through the crack in the door , as Senator Craig did to the undercover officer. (for a full two minutes, I need to add).
Then he had the audacity to try to intimidate the officer by flashing his "official bureacrat" card at him. SHAME ON MR. CRAIG and I sure hope they don't let him hang out around any schoolyards or public parks.

NO! He should start keeping his own councel instead of opening his mouth and blurting out the wrong things. He should have ignored that cop with the silly foot-work. He is not a homosexual. He is depressed and discouraged with the world and not protecting his image against evil minded detractors. He should keep being senator. He should keep his mind on lofty things and not pay any more attention to nonsense. Lest he get further confused or led down by detractors he should hire a lawyer, smile, dig his toes in and stay where he is.

The issue is not whether he should resign because he might be gay, it's because he was arrested, pled guilty and was convicted of a crime. Due to his actions regarding this issue, he no longer has a majority of support in the Senate, without that then his effectiveness to do his job is severely limited.

No, but he should come out of the closet. This isn't the first time he's wanted sex in a public restroom.

What's a person's sexual identity have to do with it?
It's not a choice he made. It's a non-issue
