California REQUIRED you to be enrolled in an ACCREDITED program. In short, a paper home study course from a company that is reputable or an on-line study program from a company that is reputable. Although, to be frank, California does allow you to DROP out of High School at age 16, which then ENDS the manditory requriement. California, unless they changed the rules, only requires you be 18 years old to go to a JC. The last two years of school are the toughest years. You honestly think you can do Trig, Algebra 3 & 4 and pre-calculus on your own? Economics. Contemporary American PRoblems. Math oriented Chemistry and Physics Those are generally REQUIRED courses for a COLLEGE major in High School, at least they were when I went to school. I assume you had at least 1 year of foreign language already. And took Geometry 1 and 2. I also hope your English Grammar and Comp skills are up to snuff. ALL colleges (even JCs) require an English and Math placement test prior to admission. The goal is to get into English 1 and College Math 1 Not into English 21 or English 23 (baby talking people English) That will turn your 4 year education into 5 years. You have already learned a STYLE format (like the Chicago Handbook or a similar method). If not bone up on the two or three major ones, they are all similar. 1" margins Single Sided Annotated Table of Authorities That last two years of high school is grammar, lit and vocabularly building.

Not all Americans are Arrogant.
I spent a month in Florida this year and to be quite honest i reacon i only come across 1 person who was arrogant. Infact i have to say everyone i spoke to i found to be very polite and helpful.
The UK is no different there is plenty of Arrogant people living here.
So perhaps people should not assume that everyone from the same Country are the same.

What is your view of arrogant? We're a proud people and have history to thank for it (mostly LOL). Lots of other countries should consider themselves a proud people due to their history also. America is a great nation, but not the only great nation. So, are all of us Americans arrogant?

I knew there was some other class I was required to take, thats right Arrogance 101 and don't forget 102. Of course this is not taught in school and is not part of every Americans personality. Perhaps you are mistaking arrogance for pride and security.
Honestly it is really arrogant of you to generalize and say that all Americans are arrogant. That would be like saying all of the people on Yahoo answers are arrogant, which isn't true. Perhaps you are referring to what some of us Americans call the snob. We don't like it either and we find it just as repulsive as you do. All Americans are not like that.

I sense you must be arrogant since the question you have posted is biased and it makes certain assumptions. Perhaps (by your reckoning) you are an American.
If Americans do come across arrogant, its probably because they are ignorant fools who have been conditioned by their state. Patriotism is paramount in many countries, and it all began during the Roman Empire.
Arrogant patriotism within any country has been enforced by the state. Don't blame them, it's just the way they have been brought up.
Ignore them, better still laugh at them as they are merely victims of ubiquitous (state) propaganda.
Anyhow, I doubt that all Americans are arrogant as you say. Unless of course you have met every single American?
I would say that Americans are no more arrogant than anyone else.
Well squire, I hope I have cleared some things up for you.

I have to say I don't like to judge anyone before I meet them but the Americans I have met were extremely rude and arrogant
I thought it was a nation of "Hi how are you today" but instead all I have had is Grunts and rudeness
But like I said maybe I was unlucky in who I met!
