Planning on moving to Cali this year but not exactly sure which bay area city is right for a single straight male, mid 30s.

well, single and 30's- I would guess close to the city would be best for you, like Daly City, SO. SF, etc. I grew up in San Carlos which is lovely, but I would guess mostly families and older people as it's pretty expensive. I have single friends in Daly City though and they love it.

check out the weather before you move. along the coast is about 30 degrees cooler than inland, which can get up to 100 during the summer heat waves.
do you want to drive, or use public transit?
how much can you afford?
i'd stay away from oakland, hayward, pittsburg and richmond in the east bay. alamo, danville and clayton are nice family areas in the east bay. other than that, i don't know much about the other towns

how much money do you have? most city's south and north of s.f. are expensive .east bay is too. maybe try san jose
