What do you see when you close and rub your eyes?

Dark circles surrounded by light. When I was a little kid, I used to rub my eyes at night in bed. I would see all kinds of bright colors, along with people.

Blue and orange. More orange and yellow if I'm outside. More darker colors when I'm inside. I hate to do that then when I stop rubbing my eyes it's still there for a while.

I had told my husband before that I see colors when I do this or just when I close my eyes he thought I was crazy! He said he only sees black.

I see things kind of like fire works displays. Then I get kinda dizzy. Weird. You're blocking off the circulation in your eyes. Don't do that for too long, you might pass out. They used to do that in middle school for fun. How dumb.

All of your answers are examples of phosphenes, which are just physiological and psychological noise. Personally, I see a radiant 5-pronged star at the center of my vision.
