If no other movie titles helped try "THE UNCANNY" (1977) it's a weird movie, very old..
Just watched it on the ABC, where I entered the movie there was a young attractive woman who had been attacked by a house full of cats, she is locked in her kitchen for days..
She finally exits the kitchen walks upstairs with a knife.
She enters a bedroom where she discovers a carcase in bed still being eaten by the cats..
She leaves the room, is knocked down the staircase then hundreds of cats maul her to death..
The next scene shows 2 older men and a police officer enter the house.. 1 man enters the room upstairs again discovers the carcase goe's into shock and is basically killed immediately by the cats in the room..
This movie has 2 other story lines to it so the scenes are forever jumping back and forward..
I hope this helps you in some way..
Regards Tash

Ahh... grindhouse. I'm in my element.
You might be thinking of "Uninvited" that killed George Kennedy (Though much of that takes place on a boat)
you might also be thinking of "Tales From The Darkside: The Movie" (Segment 2, Cat From Hell) The old man was William Hinkley.
There was also a killer cat in Pet Sematary it participated in the death of Fred Gwynne
While Sleepwalkers and Cat's Eye both featured cats they were responsible for killing monsters, not old men in buildings (The shapeshifter mother and son and the breathstealer goblin respectively)

Greetings!!
My nickname is CATNIP, I love cats, anyway, the only movie I remember seeing about "killer cats" was "Sleepwalkers" based on a book by Stephen King. There was a mother & son, who were actually some kind of "mutant looking creatures" who could disguise themselves as normal human beings, however, they were deathly affraid of cats. Any "feline" could see them for what they really were. They [the mutants] needed virgin, human blood to live and to stay young. Given the chance, if they exposed themselves to cats, the cats would/did attack to kill them. Ring any bells????
Hope I helped,
Catnip
