Mine is actually either "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" by Betty Smith, or "The Prince and the Pauper" Marj Twain. Ever read any of those?

Read them both. (Prince and the Pauper in jr. high - thought it was okay. Tree grows in Brooklyn was my absolute favorite book when I was in about 6th grade.)
I read a lot of non-fiction now. I don't know how old you are but some good fiction books that I've read in the past few years were: The Lovely Bones, I Know This Much is True, and She's Come Undone. (First two I LOVED, third was very good but not as good as the others.) BTW, last two were written by Wally Lamb.

Yes, I have read Mark Twain!
My favorite is A Martin Genealogy, Tied to the History of Germanna, Virginia, William A. Martin, Copyright 1995, William A. Martin, Published 1995 by Heritage Books, Inc., 1540E Pointer ridge Place, Bowie, MD 20716
because of all the genealogy books I have used, this one is fun to read AND has a lot of info on ancestors!

My favorite book changes constantly. My most consistently favorite book for the long term, though I haven't read it in a while, is The Catcher in the Rye. Close seconds are Cat's Cradle, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Notes from the Underground.

I have not read either. My favorite book is "Gone with the Wind." It is just so readable and the four main characters are so well described. My favorite character is Melanie, the unselfish, plain, kind-hearted Southern woman who believed in her husband and in Scarlett. I really have never met a more kind of self-sacrificing woman in literature. I think at the end of the book when she dies, Rhett says something to the effect," She was the only truly kind-hearted woman I ever knew." I love this book because it is a true character study and it educated me somewhat about the Civil War.

Any book by Francine Rivers but the bible first, always because in it is life eternal if we choose it's gift from God.It must be the favorite of a majority of people because it is the highest selling book over decades and while many, like Hitler, tried to destroy it, didn't and never will happen. All others will eventually fade into oblivion with the passing of time.

Read them both. My favorite books are Alice In Wonderland and Through the Lookingglass. I love them because I am a very literal person.
