Take all the English and writing-intensive courses you can—there’s no better way to prepare for a communication or rhetoric major. Courses in literature, poetry, drama, and public speaking are all integral to these fields, and instruction in a foreign language would be extremely useful (especially Latin). Consider joining the forensics or debate team, too, or auditioning for a play. What better way to test audience reaction first hand?

Almost nothing you take in high school is going to prepare you in particular for communications. If you're really interested in journalism, or tv video production or photography or something else specific offered by your high school, save an elective or two for those types of classes.
Otherwise you should focus on the basic college prerequisites. Sciences, math, social studies, foriegn language and literature.

Communications is the easiest major out there. Just finish High School and you'll be fine.

speech class.
it all depends on what your high school has to offer. my current high school has barely any electives, so we have just about no choice in what to take.
