I see Sci-fi and paranormal as two different genres.Robocop and Starship Troopers are my favorite Sci-Fi.The original Haunting B/W version and Poltergeist. Two real good paranormal flicks. The TV movie of The Stand is a good blend of both.

I would say Wes Cravens "They"
Its very scary for someone who has experienced those mind twisting games the body plays when it doesnt get enough sleep.... Shadow men and sleep paralysis.
Usually I like to watch a good movie a few times. If I watch a movie only once its because its bad. I only watched this movie once because its the only movie that ever really freaked me out..... ever. Honest.

I'm a massive fan of Paranormal Sci-fi. I'll jot down some of my favourites: Immortal, Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick, Total Recall, Alien, Aliens, Alien Resurrection...I'll finish it later when I get back home and check my collection :)

Well, thanks to Salem's Lot I didn't sleep at all at the age of 5. I'm sure that's a bit dated by now though. I would recommend Jacob's Ladder if you want a psychologically challenging movie. All of the ghost stories are just fairy tales, but the Others is pretty good.

I happen to be a big Stanley Kubrick fan so I'll say "The Shining". Nobody get ugly like Jack Nicholson and what better victim then Shelly Duvall.
