It is notable that a lot of users in this website have grave spelling faults, but that has never been discussed here. Do you think it would be fair? Why?

thanks for the ones who noted my mistakes, I admit it. Thanks to all the ones who have already answered. Oh! the thing about YR means Yahoo Respuestas, it is because I'm Argentinian, my mistake! I should have written YA(Yahoo Answers). Sorry!

No. Because the inability to spell is just one type of error. Then we would have to lend a close eye to syntax and eventually someone would object to incorrect metaphors, and on and on. I think some of these folks have way more serious issues than spelling. Don't you agree? (I guess you know that there is a d on would right?)

Not everyone with poor spelling is simply too lazy to use the spell checker, for some people it is completely useless. I have a contact on here who has dyslexia, and he often receives criticism for his poor spelling, but he genuinely cannot tell which is the correct word, and if he were to use the spell check he could end up inserting a similarly spelt word, which had a different meaning, and that would completely change the meaning of the question, leaving it to make no sense. He uses phonetic spelling, and his questions do make sense, despite not all words being spelt correctly.

Quite frankly , I would be over the moon! There is spell check so really not that difficult to get it right!!
It is good practise for everyone to practise their spelling, grammer etc
Did you notice your question said 'what woul you think' LOL - Ironic.
So would it be fair to remove your question?

i believe it would be a great thing, seeing as yahoo provides a spell check and there is still grave grammatical errors made time after time. it also might encourage more intelligent answers and questions. it might also spawn some learning.

i don't mind when there is the odd spelling mistake or if someone uses there instead of their, it is human nature to make mistakes but when people write like this
do u fink dat i shud rite propa
that is really annoying because they are not even trying to write correctly.

i think it would be unfair. spellcheck doesn't always work, and it always wants to change my spelling to the American form. some of these people probably are just learning English, too. i do think, though, that those of us who are just too lazy to care, should take more time to check our spelling, grammar, etc.

i think if they are really bad
they should delete them
theres no reason why people should write an answer to a question that the asker probably cannot read...waste of server space...

Well, the overall volume of questions would certainly drop sharply.
