I would rather be loved, because love is something that can be shared - it can go both ways. I guess the same is true of fear, but it's not nearly as nice.

Love is a reaction to another's goodness. To say the very least, fear is not a reaction to another's goodness - at least not normally.

Authentic love includes respect. If one is loved for the right reasons, he will be respected, as well.

Finally, as St. John tells us, "God is love." What more needs to be said?

With love comes respect. Fear does not draw respect. That's why feared leaders often get assassinated. Would you assassinate someone you loved? Of course not. Would you respect Adolf Hitler? Of course not. So now I would like to say that I would rather be loved than feared.

I would rather be loved. If I was feared, then people would respect me but probably no one would love me. So I see no point in life if you are not loved.

I would much rather be loved. Much. To me fear is only respect out of what someone could do to harm you.

I would rather be loved because it often means that if a person loves me, he/she also respects me.

Fear is not always respect. People could be nice and all in front of you but you don't know what's happening behind your back.

I would rather be feared, because people who like me are so irritating... of course, if I were feared, I would like to have some kind of ability so that no one would be able to plot my demise, like using a notebook to write people's names, and later said people would die.

Your premises are false.

I would fear Hitler, this does not mean that I would respect him. I would fear many people throughout history. That does not again translate to respect.

The desire to be loved is only for those who believe that they are unloved.
