I think u got them all right, 3 i think is A, and 8 i believe is monk, but i'm not sure on that one. The crusades were basically large groups of knights and warriors sent to the Holy Lands to try and defeat the muslims and claim the land back for christianity. That's why I don't think the crusader is right for 8, they didn't go for forgiveness of their sins. Probably not priests, because the priests in the HRE didn't really think they sinned very much.

1. is (b). The Roman Empire had to still be there, for Christianity to become its official religion (not long after 300 AD). It fell afterwards (about 400 AD). The Crusades were religiously-motivated military expeditions (about 1100 to 1300 AD) to try to expel the Turks and Mohammedans from Palestine and make it a Christian state instead.

2. is (c). Your answer (b) is wrong because there was only one Pope, the head of the Church in Rome.

3. is (a). All bishops reported to an archbishop. The most important archbishops were cardinals.

5. must be (c). The hierarchy mentioned in (a) had been there for hundreds and hundreds of years, so it was already developed and didn't need any more development.

8. must be (d), as the little speech doesn't fit with any of the others.

Christianity became the official religion of the roman empire in about 320-25ad the roman empire was declining and had been and the capital had been moved from Rome to Constantinople. so it's a tossup between b and d. crusades were religious wars between Europeans and Muslims over possession of Jerusalem and what had been Israel countryside.these took place after the advent of Islam which had it's beginning circa 600ad. no2.b is correct there were times when there were more than one pope but if you consider his supposed powers one for every parish would be ridiculous.no3.monks had the least power and the line should go popes, cardinals, bishops, priests, monks no.5. c is correct no 8.pilgrim is correct

1) roman empire bacame christian. The question is poorly worded, however. The roman empire had lost power at the time of constantine, but had not fell. He made the official religion christian. Crusades were european kingdoms getting rid of warriors in peace time by having them attack the middle east holy land, obstensibly to win it back.
2)correct
3)archbishop. a monk is less than a priest, and a parrish is run by a monseinor, over a priest but under a bishop.
4)ok, good.
5)c, sure, looks good.
