when i open the internet its like the information on the computer could be wider buts it only in the middle or on the sides?

Do you mean the text is bunched up in the middle of the page when the browser window is much wider? If that's the problem then that means everything is working correctly. The pages are set up that way so they can be adaptable to many different computers. In addition it looks nicer that way too.

There are many ways to code web pages. Some people do this based on the browser width, and then the text gets reflowed into the space available. This copes better with different browser window widths but can cause problems with getting buttons and pictures in the right place.


So many web designers used a fixed width design. If your browser window is wider you get the background image on one or both sides.

Try lowering the resolution on your video card. IF you have it set at a very high resolution, web screens my only take up half the page. If you lower to say 800 x 600 and the problem goes away, you can then go up one setting at a time until you get the best picture without having all the image bunched up in half the screen.
