how can i have a boy friend when i am shy?

i am 16 years old and a sophmore in highschool. i have always been shy of people in general. but my father says that if i keep that up i will never end up with a boy friend. they don't seem very intrested in me anyway. but i am not that shy, and i am not that bad looking. click on the links to see.
