All over this board I see GOP supporters attack Hillary as a socialist, or take shots at Obama's middle name, or Edwards hair, etc.....

It's all name calling against Democrats. So the question is, "What does the GOP stand for?"

Give me 3 reasons to vote for Giuliani, Thompson, Romney, McCain, or any other GOP candidate.

Don't give me any more shots at Democrats...tell me why your GOP candidate should be President.

jdkilp - you still haven't told me anything. Why vote for Giuliana? Why vote Thompson? What does each one stand for and how do they differ from each other?

I haven't given any shots against the dems that you have mentioned but I would not and will not vote for any of them.

Fred Thompson
Speaks from the heart, the gut, and says it the way it is, not the way people want it said, like some that change their minds more than some change their underwear.

Will continue to keep us as secure as possible from Terrorism. And isn't afraid to take a stand and stick with it! It is called back bone!

Pro-life!
Not afraid to take a stand on Illegal immigration.
And many more reasons....

This man says it like it is! He is for us! Vote Thompson 2008!

I can't think of one reason to vote for a Republican. Anything they used to stand for is completely off the table since this president took office and the rest of the GOP supported his sh*t. Hell, they don't even believe in taking individual responsibility anymore. They just blame everyone else for America's problems except their own failed policies. Their tax cuts have created huge deficits and rising national debt and an increase in the amount of our taxes to pay the interest on that rising National debt. Which in turn makes the bankers who support the GOP richer. It's obvious that the GOP should no longer be trusted if they ever were at all. Nor should it be taken seriously as the patriotic or family values party. I really don't understand why on earth anyone would vote for those clowns. It's obvious that the only thing the GOP stands for is Greed Over Principles and the richest 1% of the country.
It's obvious they sell out the country and the middle class every chance they get.
And, with the rising problems we have in this country due to the quacks in the White house and the GOP who was in charge of the senate and congress, we still have idiots who think abortion is an issue. Geeesuz.
Fred Thompson is a moron and anyone with just a half a brain and actually uses it to think with knows it.

GOP stands for grand old party founded in the 1950's by Lincoln, the first republican president. 3 reasons why republican congressmen Ron Paul should get the GOP ticket
1. He believes there is no evidence to support us going to war with Iraq, he has voted against since day 1
2. He wants America to go back to sound money
3. He wants a limited constitutional government.

I like the Democratic theory but I just don't think it can work to empower the American public as free thinking individuals. However, I think it could be a very positive thing on a state to state level.

Name calling? thats what the democrats do except most people dont notice it. liberal media and selective media.

anyway. 3 reasons?
Military. one difference is that the GOP or Republicans belive that a strong military will keep our enemies at bay. this is true. because of our military we havent had a full scale invasion since the war of 1812. september 11 while it was a horrorific act wasnt an invasion it was a terrorist attack.
demorcrats on the other hand believe we should "talk" to our enemies not fight them and that we should elimante our military to show the world our commitmeant to peace. while this may be logical. what good is talking about peace or war going to do if we dont have the military strenght to back it up.

Immigration. the Dems believe that our borders should not be reghulated and that whoever wants to come over can. unfortunealy criminals often come over to our land. they know full well that all that will happen to them if they kill an American is that they will be deported. the Reps believ that we need need a secure border that is open to everyone. the Dems just want the border loose...so to speak.

lastly we have the issue of gun control. Dems believe that if you resrtict guns with enough laws and take the away that crime will be gone. however when you look at australia japan and the uk. (i use these countries because most people know about the in the US) their guns laws are super restrictive with 98 percent of the guns belonging to the military and police. the crim rate in these countries is astronimacal compared to the US. Rep believe that when you have the guns in the right hands you have have a stable country. the current gun laws we have are enough to regulate the flow of guns if they were enforced.really on this issue its simple when you take away the citizens gun you place them into the crimanals hands because the criminals will have acess to guns and the citizens wont.

there are several more issues where the gop comes out on top, but you asked for three so i gave three. no im not democrat bashing or republican gloryifying just showing the facts.
i apoligize for my bad spelling and grammar

As a person who normally votes for Democratic presidents I think Giuliani would make a good president because
1. He turned NY around from being the most violent city in America.
2. He is a man of his word and provided true leadership during 911.
3. He's his own man and is not run by an Republican ideology or Republican speaking points.

First, Republicans support free economic expression through capitalism. That means an individual is able - encouraged - to earn or "make" as much money (wealth) as he or she is able. As a necessary consequence, governmental laws and regulations must be minimal.

Second, Republicans support national defense. That means when war is committed upon us, we go after the attackers and neutralize them. A euphemistic way of saying it, I know, but one must be gentile. Also, the borders must be protected. Not from immigrants per se, but from people who would sneak in to do harm. The country has a right to make and enforce immigration laws, to protect its citizens. Legal immigrants are, and have always been, welcome.

Essentially, Republicans promote individual responsibility with a minimum of intrusion by outsiders, principally, the government. Democrats are collectivists, believng that everyone together has the right, and even the duty, to see to "progress" of all. That is, the EQUAL and FAIR progress of all, according to their opinion. (See Hillary's book, "It Takes A Village.")

A Republican president will cut taxes, which will expand a capitalist economy, which raises all boats, if you will, and allows more and more people to live comfortably. This is undeniable, all one has to do is track the country's steady expansion along those lines, especially since WWII. A Republican president will have an originalist view of the Constitution, whereby challenges are intepreted according to the words and meanings of the Founding Fathers. Democrats want to have a "living" Constitution, whereby its meaning can be changed almost at will, to suit contemporary mores.. Activist judges can do that, as was most famously seen in Roe v. Wade.

The abortion law should have been changed through national legislation, not by a panel of 9 judges, where a single man's vote made the difference.

Sorry, but by their own words, and actions when they vote on legislation, Democrats stand in opposition to all that.

Giuliani is the only one that makes sense, he would be the safest choice for most Americans if they were honest with themselves. Deep down we all know after 911 we need a man that can handle the job of being a great commander and chief like the one we have now, and Giuliani fits the bill. HE HAS ALREADY PROVEN HE CAN FIGHT CRIME. He did an excellent job in getting the gangs out of New York.

in case you're proscribing your vote casting selections to a occasion that makes you somewhat ignorant. Lincoln became right into a Republican. you already know, the guy in charge for the Emancipation Proclamation. somebody else pronounced Reagan. There are precise wingers who did good issues. do no longer decide somebody by using their association as a results of fact it does not relatively mean as much as you are able to think of.

vote for McCain to keep the war going forever
vote for Romney to keep the multimillionaires in power
vote for Thompson with his strong bearing and deep voice and years in Hollywood so we can pretend we have a real President.
vote for Rudy so he can apply his really extensive national and foreign policy experience he learned running city hall in NYC which is soooooo like the rest of the country and the world. His motivational seminars show the kind of real depth he has.
