The girl he courted will also be there, and it is an intimate dinner where only personnel from their department will be present (about 6-7 pax).

Put on your happy face and be grateful that he wants to be seen with you. He could just as easily have gone to the dinner and hooked up with his ex without you being the wiser. Accept that either he is proud to have you on his arm or that he is doing it to keep himself on the straight and narrow, but if he wanted to cheat on you, I don't think you would have been invited.

I would definetly go. You need to be there and act as though you are enjoying the intimate dinner. If she sees you having a good time - she will be jealous and be worse off.
Perhaps she won't even care. But in the long run I think you should show up.

I'm assuming the girl he courted was BEFORE you....so you should go along and be gracious and polite. You got him, he chose you so no need to feel insecure or nasty or uneasy.

hopefully their relationship was before you were together, go and be yourself as long as she isnt flirting constantly with him, just remember he is with you, it obviously didnt work between them and hes happy with you, if you arent worried by them at work why worry about being in the same room as her, if anything she will be more uncomfortable than you
