Yes, bullfrogs will eat birds, rodents, snakes, baby turtles, and other bullfrogs. I used to have some that would eat large feeder fish and live adult mice. They were huge! One was about 14 inches stretched out from nose to toes.

This just happened to us. The other day, my honey brings me home a female tree frog that he found in our yard. (It was about 40 degrees that night). Apparently she hadn't hibernated like the rest or she wasn't anticipating the early chill (we've had a warm fall). We brought her in and set her up a habitat with the extra tank and accessories we had around for the rest of our pets. It would be tragic to let it freeze to death. I know that everything happens for a reason and nature should be allowed to run it's course, but I'm with you. I couldn't sit back and just watch it happen. I would capture it as stress-free as possible and introduce it to an already set up habitat with some gut-loaded and calcium dusted crickets. Make sure you google (i use the images instead of reading each page) it to find out exactly what kind it is and what it's needs are. Good luck and congrats on your new addition!

They are probably bull frogs. Bull frogs tend to eat anything that moves and fits in its mouth.

It sounds kind of unusual, but I'm sure it won't harm the frogs.

Do you by any chance live near a nuclear power plant? I wouldn't go outside along at night, if I were you.
