Ok i have this math question here it goes:

-(2x-y) +2(3x+y)

i got: -8x+3y

Please correct me if im wrong and give details please

-(2x-y) +2(3x+y)

distribute the negative and the two

-2x+y + 6x+2y

add like-terms. your final answer is:
4x+3y

I got 4x + 3y. You start by distributing the negative to the (2x-y) and distributing the 2 to the (3x+y) and you get -2x+y + 6x+ 2y and when you add that you get 4x + 3y. The order of operations is distribution before division/multiplication, adding/subtracting

first distribute the negative sign through the first set of (), then distribute the positive 2 through the second set of (). now your problem should look like this: -2x+y+6x+2y now you combine like terms and you get : 4x+3y I hope that helps!!
