a million. -5x + 3 > -2 -5x > -2 - 3 -5x > -5 x < a million 2. 3/5x + 4 > 2 3/5x > 2 - 4 3/5x > -2 3x > -10 x > -10/3 3. 2(x-3) ? -2(x - 3) x-3 ? -(x - 3) x-3 ? -x + 3 2x - 3 ? 3 2x ? 6 x ? 3 4. 4 < 2x - 8 ? 10 4 + 8 < 2x ? 10 + 8 12 < 2x ? 18 6 < x ? 9 5. 0 ? (4-x)/3 ? 5 0 ? 4 - x ? 15 -4 ? -x ? 15 - 4 -4 ? -x ? 11 4 ? x ? -11 -11 ? x ? 4 6. 2 + x < 3x - 2 < 5x + 2 2 + x < 3x - 2 2 < 2x - 2 a million < x - a million 2 < x 3x - 2 < 5x + 2 -2 < 5x - 3x + 2 -2 < 2x + 2 -a million < x + a million -a million - a million < x -2 < x 2 + x < 5x + 2 x < 5x 0 < 4x 0 < x You get that x > -2 and x > 0 and x > 2. because of the fact x > 2 satisfies all 3 of those standards, x > 2 is the respond. 7. x + 3 > 7x - 2 > 5x - 10 x + 3 > 7x - 2 x + 5 > 7x 5 > 6x 5/6 > x x + 3 > 5x - 10 x + 13 > 5x 13 > 4x 13/4 > x 7x - 2 > 5x - 10 2x - 2 > -10 2x > -8 x > -4 You get that x > -4 and x < 13/4 and x < 5/6. because of the fact 5/6 < 13/4 then the respond is -4 < x < 5/6 desire this permits you!

You need to know HOW to solve these problems, not just what the answers are (or do you hope to learn the answers to all possible questions before going into an exam without learning the method?).
Solving inequalities is pretty much the same as solving equalities (equations). You just need to do the same thing to each side.
BUT, if you multiply or divide an inequality by a negative number, you must change the direction of the inequality.
For example, 3 > 2 is clearly true.
If you multiply both sides by -1, you must change > to < for the new expression to remain true.
You even need to consider this when you are multiplying/dividing by an unknown value.
