No such one exists. Every single individual has his or her idea of what a utopia should consist of. For some, a utopia would be for one to force all others to bend to one's will, whether by brute force or enticing others through promises of "equal distribution." Utopias, if ever fully achieved, will ultimately be doomed to failure simply because man is selfish by nature.

There isn't an ideal Utopia...If you are talking politically, it has been tried before, keep this quote from Winston Churchill in mind: "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery". If you are talking about personal Utopia......um, Godiva chocolate, yep that is Utopia.

A response to Darren below: some of what you say is nice, yet to quote you - "no left, no right..means no discourse which sounds like 20th century Nazism to me, also no celeb news, no left and no right, dispense with trade all together" all of which you speak of is in fact what brings dictators to power...this is how communism, dictators and totalitarian governments form with this path of rhetoric, keep that in mind. These aspects are exactly why Utopian governments do not work, freedom of choice and free will come at a high price.

I think our world is the best possible place to learn and grow and experience non-agreement with our ideas and ideals. It is where we can hone our biases into firm realizations of what is closest to the truth because it is balanced by others who do not even come close to agreeing. I think that is Utopia. If I was a creator, I would probably make this world as is to foster our personal growth.

Communists attempted to create a Utopia. In THEORY, they did. The idea of everyone being equal, there being no shortage of resources, abundance of jobs, and a working-class inspired government. But people are selfish by nature and that will always interfere. There will never be equality in our world.

A utopian society would not treat children as second class citizens. All variants of the concept have yet to incorporate this feature.

Any right claimed by adults that cannot be enforced for children is not a fair or equitable society.
