I have an issue......I hired a guy out of Canada to do my web design for my website I was trying to put up. I paid him $3000 And he never completed the work. I live in the U.S
So My question would I be can I file a small claims in US or would I have to go to Canada to pursue this issue.
I have proof that I have paid him this money and a lot of other items to prove my case. What can I do here in the US?

when writing/signing a contractual agreement between two or more parties the contract should state that there is a jurisdiction where a issue can be resolved if there is a dispute. small claims though can be filed in the U.S. since we have an agreement with our northern neighbors and the can be enforced. just keep all of the documentation so it can be presented, good luck.

Usually (per US laws) you sue someone where they live, or where the contract was executed. So you probably have to sue in Canada.
