to under wire bras. There were still padded bras out there which did not have underwires. And they were georgous and lacey etc. One brand was Lechaby (spelling?). I used to wear that brand only. Don't know what happened to it.

I'm not padded around the ribs, and I just hate those wires. They are so uncomfortable. I was also thinking, has the number of breast cancer cases increased since they brought them back?

I have spoken to a lot of women, young and old and they all seem to hate the underwiring as well.

I dislike the uncomfortable underwire thing, too, so I always remove it.
I just slice one end of the underwire area, pull the wire out, and then sew the part that I sliced open. It's hardly noticeable that I did that. But it's been great for me. Nothing will stop me from wearing my underwire-less bras!! NOTHING!!! lol.

**edit**
But still it's just like what Mary G stated. We do need support for these "little guys" lol.

Nobody wants to be uncomfortable. If the underwire bothers you take it or buy an underwire-less one. If you can stand the discomfort of the underwirings of the bra, then keep it.

I always remove the underwires. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. The bra manufacturers can go to hell.

What really amazes me are the underwire bras for women who don't need underwires.

Bras must be designed by men. Imagine underwire athletic supporters?

I love them, having large breasts I need all the support I can get. Have never found them to be uncomfortable -if they are, maybe you might need to be properly fitted. No bra should be uncomfortable if it has been fitted correctly. And if you hand wash them, the wires don't pop out at inopportune moments !

Well, I hate them too but I don't know of any other way to hold up big breasts, which are very heavy and uncomfortable if they are not properly secured, so to speak. The other little dainty bras only work for women with small breasts.

I loathe under wire bras...they are out to drive us nuts for sure!!

I had never heard any questions regarding under wire bras and breast cancer before. Yahoo Search has many web sites listed.

I need underwire bras simply to support my overly large breasts...I buy 42DD bras only because I refuse to buy my "correct" size, which is a 40E.

I always liked it when you were at work or in public place and the underwire is suddenly under your chin and you have to go to the restroom and pull it out!! LOL!!!

I couldn't stand them years ago. The last two years I found some that don't bother me and I look a bit neater because of them. If they do work their way out, I'll help them out the rest of the way. C. :)!!
