is there a site that has pen pals that r safe? i want one but im scared of the online creeps... so do u no of any good free websites?

You are probably never going to be 100% sure that someone who posts their name on a website wanting a pen pal doesn't have alternative motives, especially the free websites. Some of the better advertised sites ie American Singles, Yahoo Personals, MSN Chat, etc. are probably as safe as it's going to get. You are going to have to pick and choose from any site, and the best way to be safe is to stay annonymous until you are absolutely sure you can trust the person to be who he/she says he/she is. Do not reveal your real name, address, phone number, work place (or school), or send a picture, in other words. If the person is genuine, he/she will not push you for these details because he/she will understand why you are doing this. The first clue to there being a problem is pressure to reveal any of the above, and/or to meet in person. Good luck.

Whatever sites that anyone goes to, there are creeps. It is up to you to keep an open mind and be firm on your principles as to how much truth is in each correspondence. No one can help you but yourself. If you decide to go ahead, just tread the path cautiously and wisely as the worst creeps are the nicest to correspond but not all nice ones are creeps, so bear in mind to be extremely careful but sometimes wrong judgement will prevail as we are only human.

Lindsay, I'd imagine that there are some creeps and preditors on all sites regardless of how safe they claim to be.
