Asian ethnically. The Spanish were there for more than 300 years, so most Filipinos have at least a little Spanish blood in them. They also gave them the Spanish sounding last names.

Filipinos are Asians too. i'm a Filipino and that i evaluate myself as an Asian. often, I even have whilst i'm asked of my ethnicity or race, Asian is the final term for persons living in worldwide places in Asia Pacific.

Asian because it is located in Asia. Now when you speak of ethnicity it's Filipino race (mix of Malay, Chinese, Spanish, and Negritos) Most Filipinos look predominantly Malay.
