How do you lead the elections? Do you have students make a list of supproters to be a candidate? Do you elect one person per level or just one school president? Do you have a student counsel?

Here's the way we do it... we have a class assembly where an administrator gets up and trys to convince kids to run for an office. Kids who want to run go to that class's sponsor (a teacher). The sponsor will make sure the kid's aren't just gonna make a joke of it, and will put the names of kids who want to run onto a ballot. The ballot is handed out in advisory classes or you could do just each grade level's english class or whatever... and the kids vote.

Oh, I forgot... another class assembly is given after the kids have been nominated to say the class speeches.
