At the drug store or Walmart you can get a hot pack that you apply to your back - or whatever - which heats up from some sort of chemical reaction. No electricity. They also have cold packs. Very portable.

You can get a microwave heating pad. Those are great because you do not need a cord. You heat it in the microwave before you leave and then you can take it anywhere. Also, most microwave heating pads produce moist heat and that is better than a dry heat. You can see some microwave heating pads here:

Yes. Go to your local drug store (like a Rite Aid or Sav On). They have a section with all kinds of injury aids, like wraps, braces, etc. You'll find an electric heating pad for about $20.
