When I was a Child, in the Late forty's I remember that it was during Christmas, a Year when there was no Money, and Work was scarce, so, my Dad, went to an empty Lot that had a lot of weeds and picked one of small Wild tree that grew there, cut it and brought it over so my Mom would decorate it with popcorn, and some decorations we, Painted with crayons, no lights since back than there was no Electricity. During Christmas eve, my dad sent us to sleep as he said if you do not go to sleep Santa will not leave anything for us, and would bypass our House and the present he had for us, Children, would be given to someone else. In the Morning when we woke up, I saw some rag Dolls with dresses and Shoes to match, for each of us, we were Five girls, and five Dollies all the same color . But to us it was the best Dolly we had ever had, when I think of those Golden days i always have it engraved In my Heart, because when you do not have a lot to eat, or any Money to buy the necessities, that present was like Gold to us Girls. So, what I had wished for came true, since I had always wanted a dolly to be my Companion, to tell her my Secrets. I still have that precious Dolly, and I have not let my Girls play with it when they were Little. I think that when you have everything you wanted out of Life, this Story would make you Laugh, because if you had not suffered, during your growing up Years, what you have now, you take for Granted. I have always given thanks to the Lord for everything I have, but I always remember back than, when I was Young. That makes me appreciate Life. Thanks for your Question.

This will sound silly. I wished to find a four leaf clover. Not a big wish but still a wish. Over the last 30 years I have found 3. One I spent hours and hours as a child searching for. and the other two were by pure chance and that is what I love. I still have one and however sad it sounds, I look at it when i feel really troubled and it gives me a warm feeling. I don't know if I believe in wishes but It does still make me wonder 'what if...' So I guess it did come true but it gave me something more which I could not explain to you.

I was placed in an orphanage after my father died when I was four. I remember all too vividly what I wished for that didn't happen until my mom got me back four years later, simply belonging to a family who visited me and could see relatives I loved. Sadly even this didn't make my wish come true until I left home at 17 and moved down among my father's relatives on my own.
No matter what the past has been there is always a future yet to be, and the wishes we could not have become the hopes we fulfil for others.

This won't be anything profound, because I'm in my child mode. After my pa told me he'd taken me from a gypsy band when I was a baby-- which absolutely enchanted me--I wished until I was about seven years old that those gypsies would come laughing colourfully across the fields, & I'd meet my REAL MUM. For some reason, I still thought of my pa as my real pa...wonderful the selectivity in magical thinking. & of course, I still do this, because my "child" is always in me. Oh, the last part. No, it never came true, but it was great fun imagining it. Who knows.....she probably wouldn't be more than in her early fifties with a full skirt & bright scarf, & bare feet! (I'm sure I take after her.)

Hi,
For my daddy to come home safely from work. I really went through a phase of fear of losing my loved-ones, must have been at that stage when we realised people would not be there forever. Maybe I'd just lost my gran because these memories take me back to when I was around three. I spent a lot of time then, visualising 'daddy' riding his (pedal) bike home, where he would be and wishing for him to arrive safely home. Quite a lot for such a little mind to think of!

I wished for a new bike at Christmas. My mom was in the hospital & dad was with us. We looked under the tree & there were no presents. After being in the bedroom awhile we begged to see the tree again. There were all these amazing toys, & my bike! I was about 6 & for years I wondered who put the gifts under the tree & how they did it so fast. To this day my father says it was Santa.

Yes...I am pretty sure this was my very first wish. I wanted a hobby horse..you know the riding horses that rock back and forth? Well, my younger sister got one when I asked for one. THEN, when I was 6, I wanted a Little Kiddle Doll...well, guess who got one for their birthday at the same time I asked for one...hmmm...my sister. She was the one with the dimples...the one with the "giggle box that just wouldn't shut off..so cute">.gag. I was so jealous of her. We are very close today, though...lol...I am 44 and she is 42.
