so we lived on a farm, but it was sold and turned into houses. So we bought 80 acres out in the middle of nowhere, now we have lived in a trailer on that property for a few years while we built a barn and got electricity and water and such. not the contract of how long we can live in a trailer is up in a year so we have to build a house or move within the next year. We dont have the money to build a great house fast but dont want to move, any ideas? i looked into extreme home makeover but thats more if you already have a house in bad condition...know of any other show like that to help?

Try a pre fab house, know plenty of families which live in them and the prices are no where near the cost of a built house. Find a dealer and check on them.

You may have to borrow on the farm, and finance the house. It will cost you more in the long run, since you'll have to pay the interest, but what else can you do?

I had a friend build a house and he lived in a trailer while he built it, he went over the year, and he got an extension on the time, but it was not easy and they gave him a hassle about it. He had made a lot of progress on the house, so they gave him another 6 months. He did later get an additional 6 month but they told him that was all he was getting. He finished the house and moved in.
