Yes - no more republican majority.
All manner of mayhem has been avoided.

It's a start. The margin is razor thin and the Republicans aren't yet ready to totally bail on George Bush. Besides, anything passed that the Bush Junta doesn't like will get vetoed. Still, the movement is toward overthrowing the reactionaries and getting back to centerist politcs and policies. Bush is going try to keep this war going at least until he leaves office and that's really all that's holding up any real change. At some point the dead-enders of the current GOP will be driven out.....the democrats surge is working even if Bush's 'surge' in Iraq isn't.

Yes. I vote for the person. So if I voted for a Democrat, I feel I voted for the best person and feel the other would not have been as efficient. As a whole, I do not feel America has gotten what they should have out of a Democratic majority, however.

Actually I voted for only one democrat because there was no libertarian candidate running for the house in my district, but I've gotten EXACTLY what I voted for: gridlock. The less congress can accomplish the less they can screw up, and the current division is almost perfect. In a perfect world we'd see a divided Congress with the house enjoying a one seat majority over whatever party holds the white house. That would be ideal in my book.

hey nice name, long haired freak people, but you need not apply. sorry I had to.
If they voted for partisan agenda instead of the best interest of the country, as well as lots of talk and and no follow through, the Democrats got exactly what they wanted.

No we have not gotten what we wanted. It's easy to say "those weasels forgot what got them elected and now they aren't doing anything thay said they would". However, the Dems do not have a filibuster-proof 60%, and the Repubs only dislike filibusters when they are used to stop them. The Repubs are using every procedural roadblock they can to make the Dems look completely ineffective. When even more seats turn over to the Dems next yar, this will change. Unfortunetly, with lame duck Bush only months away from leaving office with a trail of shame, corruption, sleaze and war-profitteering behind him, they probably won't bother to impeach him.

Unfortunately politics is now truly a lesser of two evils. We need a third or fourth evil to choose from

I didn't vote for em'. But I'm payn' the price. I consider the liberals the argument branch of the government. It's like a bunch of defense lawyers trying to prove their case by slander rather than facts.

Yes, absolutely. A Democratic majority in Congress has put a stop to some of the outrageous laws and tax breaks that the right wing was easily sliding through 2001 - 2007. When Hillary takes office in 2009 hopefully we can right the ship on some of the atrocities that the Bush administration has imposed on the middle class of the USA.

It amazes me that you think that there is a difference between a democrat and a republican. They both sleep in the same bed.
You know who doesn't sleep in the same bed? Jesus. And he knocks at the door of your heart waiting for you to let Him in.
The big question is............will you?

Not yet, but when I vote for them again this November and get this "veto happy" little weasel and his clones out of office, then we will all see our once great nation turn around and head back in the right direction.
