♥ say, 'hey there friend...... i'm not buying what you're selling. but thanks for the information on it.......' lol

*sighs* just because they're your friends doesnt mean you have to buy something you neither need, want or have use for. If they're really your friends, they'll understand...........

For some reason friends come to me when they have something for sale. I asked one of my friends why does everyone tell me when they want to sell something. She said because I know a lot of people and I could let people know & maybe find someone interested. So maybe that is why your friend told you. But just tell him know you will help him sell it if you can. Maybe he doesn't want you to buy it anyways. Good luck!

I have been very fortunate in that I have a lot of friends who sell something, but none of them have ever said anything other than, "If you want something, give me a call." They never mention it again. If I do want something (most of them sell cosmetics), I call them, but they never push.

I did have one very pushy person who tried to get me involved in a pyramid scheme. I live in Utah, and pyramid schemes are practically the state hobby. The person who called me was the brother-in-law of my former boyfriend, and he called me about three months after I was married, asking me to invest $5K in a "wonderful investment opportunity". I politely declined, telling him I was not interested. He called me back several days later, and was really pushy. I again declined. The third time he called me, he mentioned the fact that he knew that while my husband and I might not have $5K of our own, he knew from speaking to my ex that my parents had a lot of money, and that they were sure to give me any money I asked for. That's when I replied with something like this: "You rotten bast***. You didn't even bother to thank me for the ridiculously expensive gift I gave your daughter for her christening. And now you call me and want me to give you $5K so you can climb to the next level of the pyramid? Do you think I am a fool? I wouldn't trust you with $5, let alone $5K. Now stop bothering me. The next time you call me, I am calling the police. Those schemes are illegal, in case you haven't been paying attention. So is pushing someone to join one. Now go away!" I haven't heard from him since.

Later, through the grapevine, I learned that he lost a little over $40K when his little "investment club" was busted. I wasn't sure if it was true, but by then I was working for the library system, and I did a little research, and found the actual figure was closer to $50K. I laughed.

So that's what I say. I give them the "rotten bast***" speech. I have only had to do it once, but I would do it again if I had to.

Politely say that I'm not interested, but I'll keep an eye out for a potential buyer.
