Is this a kind of prejudice?

Yes I have disliked a name because of someone unpleasant who bore it (maybe that's why I won't name a kid 'Adolph')

I haven't disliked a person because of their name - though it might take meeting and knowing them - for example, if I met a person named 'Osama' tomorrow, if it's not wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden, I wouldn't hold it against them.

Is it prejudice? No, we all make judgments based on our experiences and, hopefully, we're all mature and intelligent enough to make "righteous" judgments based on these things.

Yes. I'm a teacher, and you wouldn't believe the number of names that were ruined for me when I contemplated names for kids of my own.

I don't think it's prejudice, because it's not like I dislike all Andrews because I knew a few horrific ones, rather I just dislike the name. I'm willing to give new Andrews a chance! :)

Yes. I dislike the name Brenda because of a childhood acquaintance who was a trouble maker. Never thought of it as a prejudice but I suppose it could be.

I always hated the names Heather, Meagan and Natasha.
The reasons all go back to pre-school and Kindergarten.
Heather-The dirty/messy looking girl
Meagan- The Booger Girl
Natasha- The Fart Girl

I don't feel this way about these girls now, and i like to think I wasn't ever mean to them, I can't say for sure, but it was a long time ago and I'm not that type of person. But thats my take.

Yes, but I am only human. I dont like the name Brenda, because I have known so many Brendas that were slutty and just not nice people. But I happen to know another Brenda that is very sweet. I still would not name a child, dog, or whatever Brenda, though.

Absolutely. There is a certain name that I detest for the fact that it is a former boyfriends name which was not a good life experience for me. So I have a tendancy to stay away from people with that particular name.

I now hate the name Michelle because it brings the image and memories of a certain person to mind.

Yes. I was named (my first name) after my father but I use my middle name instead. My father was a sadistic punk who beat my mother, myself, and my siblings on a biweekly basis. He finally went to jail for murder when I was 6.
