I want to make some paper mache masks for halloween decorations but i forgot how to do it. My freshman year in art we made half masks that were only the face and had nothing on the back, but i forgot how we did it. How do you make a paper mache mask that is like this, not one that goes on your head or anything.? Any help would be appreciated.

You will need a mold to put the paper mache on.
Once the paper mache is dry remove the mold and decorate.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking when you say you want a papier mache mask "that is like this, not one that goes on your head."

Anyway, you can find lessons on various ways to make masks yourself on this page of my site, if you want to check it out, plus lots of examples:

(... look all under the MASKS category there...)

Good luck,

we made plaster ones we had to actually put it on our face to make a mold.but if you had like a head or model, you could use to get the face shape..you just make a mixture of glue and water to a very thin consistency, and dip strips of newspaper in the glue-water,and layer it on top of the other.one on top of other.before it almost dries cut around edges so you'll have even border.let it dry, remove, and paint.I would coat or spray it with a shiny paint when dry...
