It's not so much what you do, but what you don't do that makes food organic. Namely, you don't use artificial fertilizers, insecticides, or other chemicals on them.

Apart from that, hermits can eat any foods that you do, as long as they don't have any spices, seasonings, butter/margarine, etc. on them. They particularly like tropical fruits, but should also have some veggies and some seafood/fish for the protein. For best health, they should have a variety of things to eat.
