Even if you have paid for more than half the value of the car?

No it will be put up for repossession, you can not go to jail in the USA for not paying your bills!

No. This is a civil matter. Your name is on the title, so the car is legally yours. The bank holds a lein on the car, so that they can legally reposess it. They will have to come after you in civil court.
